Setting aside the fact that street racing itself is sketchy as hell.... doing it in a 700hp Willys Jeep with no doors or windshield while wearing shorts and a t-shirt and hitting speeds of nearly 180mph has got to be the sketchiest street race ever...

They've been doing this for decades with CJ Jeeps. In particular, there used to be a big thing (or so I've read) where they would use them for sand racers in california, with supercharged SBCs or 351s putting down around 600-700HP through custom drivetrains. It was the logical progression of the Baja Bug.
This one is a little extreme, but has a long heritage of hoonage behind it.

I've seen several videos of this guy, he's incredibly reckless and a fucking asshat. I hope he gets arrested.

I saw both of these cars at the Ice Cream Cruise on Saturday. This is what they went and did afterwards. I even know the exact stretch of road. Also, the YouTube channel that posted this was the main sponsor of the event, which was touting the fact that they were a legal event with no street racing.

His trans was probably fucked, He's running an Auto, so maybe he lost a gear, or something odd.
Either way the Willy's is pretty quick being stuck in a higher gear.
